Post-adoption reports are required for families who have finalized their international adoption. The number of reports required is determined by the country in which you adopted and/or the agency who facilitated your adoption. If your family wishes to complete the re-adoption process within the State of Washington, at least one post-adoption report is required. The re-adoption process allows you to complete a formal name change, if not done abroad. You can also obtain a Washington adoption decree, and a Washington birth certificate that lists the adopting parent(s) as the child’s parent(s).
